THE AFTERCARE
Your ink is a permanent investment. Proper aftercare is the bridge between a fresh sting and a lifelong masterpiece. Professionalism doesn't end when the needle stops; it continues with your commitment to the healing process. We take the art seriously—you should too.

WASH & PREVENT
FRESH
HEALED
◈
STEP 01
SANITIZE HANDS
Before touching your new tattoo, scrub your hands with antimicrobial soap for at least 20 seconds. Bacteria transfer is the primary cause of early-stage infections.
◈
STEP 02
GENTLE CLEANSE
Use lukewarm water and liquid, fragrance-free soap. Wash the area using clean fingertips in a gentle circular motion to remove blood, plasma, and excess ink until it feels smooth.
◈
STEP 03
AIR & PAT DRY
Gently pat the skin dry with a fresh paper towel. Do not rub or use a bath towel, which can harbor bacteria. Allow the skin to air dry for 10 minutes before applying any ointment.
MOISTURE IS KEY
- DO: Apply a paper-thin layer of unscented, water-based lotion twice daily once the tattoo begins to peel. This prevents cracking and preserves depth.
- DON'T: Use petroleum jelly or heavy oils. These clog the skin and can draw ink out, leading to uneven healing and loss of detail.

HEALING TIMELINE
Inflammation
Day 1-3
Initial redness, mild swelling, and plasma oozing are completely normal responses. Keep the area shielded and pristine.
Day 4-10
Peeling & Itch
The skin will begin to flake like a sunburn. Avoid picking or scratching as this can damage the ink and lead to scarring.
While the surface layer is closed, deeper layers are still repairing. Maintain your moisturizing routine for long-term depth.
Deep Repair
Week 2-4
Month 1+
Final Vibrancy
Your tattoo is fully integrated. Colors reach their intended brilliance. Now is the time to start planning your next visionary piece.
WARNING SIGNS
Healing is a process, not an event. While redness and localized swelling are common in the first 48 hours, knowing the difference between normal irritation and potential infection is critical for your safety and the longevity of your art.
Normal Healing
- Redness/Heat: Common in the first 2-3 days.
- Peeling & Flaking: Like a sunburn, usually days 4-10.
- Itching: Sign of regeneration. Do not scratch.
- Dullness: Normal 'cloudy' look during peeling phase.
Common Queries
How should I clean my new tattoo?
Wash the area 2-3 times daily using lukewarm water and a fragrance-free, antimicrobial soap. Gently pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not scrub or use washcloths during the initial healing phase to prevent micro-tears.
What products should I avoid?
Strictly avoid petroleum-based products like Vaseline, scented lotions, and sunscreens on fresh tattoos. These can suffocate the skin and cause ink to migrate or fade prematurely. Stick to recommended professional balms.
Is peeling and itching normal?
Yes, light peeling and moderate itching are standard as the skin regenerates. Never pick, peel, or scratch the area, as this can pull ink out of the dermis and create permanent scars or light spots in the artwork.
When can I submerge my tattoo?
Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, and oceans for at least 2-3 weeks. Quick showers are fine, but submerging the tattoo before it is fully closed introduces high risks of bacterial infection and irritation.
