Before touching your new tattoo, scrub your hands with antimicrobial soap for at least 20 seconds. Bacteria transfer is the primary cause of early-stage infections.

GENTLE CLEANSE
Use lukewarm water and liquid, fragrance-free soap. Wash the area using clean fingertips in a gentle circular motion to remove blood, plasma, and excess ink until it feels smooth.

AIR & PAT DRY
Gently pat the skin dry with a fresh paper towel. Do not rub or use a bath towel, which can harbor bacteria. Allow the skin to air dry for 10 minutes before applying any ointment.

Healing is a process, not an event. While redness and localized swelling are common in the first 48 hours, knowing the difference between normal irritation and potential infection is critical for your safety and the longevity of your art.

- Peeling & Flaking: Like a sunburn, usually days 4-10.
- Itching: Sign of regeneration. Do not scratch.
- Dullness: Normal 'cloudy' look during peeling phase.

How should I clean my new tattoo?
Wash the area 2-3 times daily using lukewarm water and a fragrance-free, antimicrobial soap. Gently pat dry with a clean paper towel. Do not scrub or use washcloths during the initial healing phase to prevent micro-tears.

Strictly avoid petroleum-based products like Vaseline, scented lotions, and sunscreens on fresh tattoos. These can suffocate the skin and cause ink to migrate or fade prematurely. Stick to recommended professional balms.
